| Bruno is looking for a new home. Not good w/ cats. |

|
| Call Susan at 616-296-1323 |
What a joy! Bruno will make you smile and he will make you laugh. He will win your heart as he has mine.
But Bruno can not live with cats, so I need to find a home for him. In the short time he has been with me he has been
housebroken and crate trained. We are also working on some manners. He catches on quickly. Bruno is blind
most likely form a progressive degenerative retinal condition. You would never know he was blind though. He plays
with his tennisballs and kong, and found the couch all on his own. He has also learned how to open the closet door that
contains his food, so like I said, you would never know he was blind. We walk everyday, he loves it and does
really well. Bruno gets along great with my other dog. Bruno was found as a stray. He is about
6 years old, 75 pounds and in very good health. He is current on all his vaccines, heartworm negative and on heartworm
preventative. Bruno is very gentle and has a great temperment. He will give you kisses, sleep at your feet
and be your best bud.

All animals will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
All dogs and puppies are $150. This includes license($6), county fee($15),
HATS fee for medical charges that include spay/neuter, heartworm test, vaccinations($119)and microchip($10).
(Dogs of the week are half the normal adoption fee)
It really is a good deal. Try to get all that done for that price. Keep in mind there
are no guarantees. HATS works very hard to care for and vaccinate dogs but there may be health issues with a dog the
shelter has no way of knowing about. The risk is yours. I say it's worth it.
There may be more dogs than these photos show
due to animals in quarantine or arriving during
the week. There also may be less due to
adoption and euthenizing. I try to update weekly.
Thanks for looking!

(note: if you want to adopt a pet from the Isabella County Animal Shelter,
please visit the shelter as soon as possible. Euthenizing is done when space requires, therefore tomorrow
may be too late. They do try to keep them as long as possible but their time is limited.) Please call
the shelter for verification if you are driving any distance.

He Created You
I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society. I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear
and dread, sadness and betrayal. And I was angry. "God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?" God was silent
for a moment and then He spoke softly. I have done something," He replied. "I created you." ~The Animals' Savior Copyright

Tips for you
1.never feel sorry or spoil your dog
because he was homeless and in the shelter
2.before you enter your house with your new dog,
take him or her for a long walk
so the dog can bond with you
3.watch the dog whisperer on
national geographic channel Fridays at 8pm
4. don't give your dog onions or grapes (raisins too)
they are toxic to dogs, chocolate is bad for dogs too

Here in this house.........................
I will never know the loneliness I hear
in the barks of the other dogs 'out there'. I can sleep soundly, assured that when I wake
my world will not have changed. I will never know hunger,
or the fear of not knowing if I'll eat. I will not shiver in the cold,
or grow weary from the heat. I will feel the sun's heat, and the rain's coolness, and be allowed to smell
all that can reach my nose. My fur will shine, and never be dirty or matted. Here in this house...
There
will be an effort to communicate with me
on my level. I will be talked to and, even if I don't understand, I can enjoy the warmth of the words. I will
be given a name
so that I may know who I am among many. My name will be used in joy,
and I will love the sound of it! Here in this house...
I will never be a substitute for anything I am not. I
will never be used
to improve peoples' images of themselves. I will be loved because I am who I am,
not someone's idea of who I should be. I will never suffer for someone's anger,
impatience, or stupidity. I will be taught all the things I need
to know to be loved by all.
If I do not learn my lessons well,
they will look to my teacher for blame. Here in this house...
I can trust arms that hold, hands that touch...knowing
that, no matter what they do, they do it for the good of me. If I am ill, I will be doctored. If scared, I will be
calmed. If sad, I will be cheered. No matter what I look like, I will be considered beautiful and thought to be of
value. I will never be cast out because I am too old,
too ill, too unruly, or not cute enough. My life is a responsibility, and not an afterthought. I will learn that
humans can almost, sometimes,
be as kind and as fair as dogs.
Here in this house...
I will belong. I will be home.

If you are thinking about adopting a dog, it is a good idea to bring any other dogs
that will live with the dog to the shelter beforehand to make sure they get along. Also, bring any children that will
be around the dog to make sure the dog will behave properly around them. This will prevent a dog from having to be returned
for not working out in his new family.

The shelter is in need of LEASHES, LEASHES, LEASHES and collars. Often when a dog gets adopted, leash and collar
goes too. We could also use pet carriers and crates of any size, so animals can be taken to vet. If you have one you
aren't using anymore why not donate it shelter? Everyone would be so grateful!
