Bruno has been to my vet and he checked out very healthyHe is all up to date on vaccines Distemp/Parvo current till 1-18-11,Leptospirosis current till 1-18-11, Bordetella current till 1-18-11 and of course rabies and heartworm.

His stool and urine where both normal.  The vet said he was completely blind, and probably due to a progressive degenerative retinal thing.

We walk everyday and he does really well, I use a gentle leader harness, because he has a tendency to pull.  He loves to play with the kong and squeekie tennisballs.  He tosses them in the air and the listens for them.  Keeps him occupied for a while.   I have had no food issues.  He knows how to get the closet door open to get to the dog food and he knows where the treat cupboard is.  Bruno and my other dog get along just fine.  But he doesn't like cats.  He does well in his crate.  But he loves to be scratched and has found the couch like he belonged there all along.  He really is very gentle and a very nice temperment.  He seems to catch on pretty quick, listens good.  He wasn't housebroken when I got him, but he is pretty much now, he has had a few accidents but I think thats pretty good.  He figures out his area so he doesn't bump into much.  Not sure he would do well in a home with little kids, only because he may knock them over because he can't see them.  No one knows he blind until I tell them.

Stella is a 5-8 yr old Fox Terrier who is diabetic and will need insulin for the rest of her life.  She gets along with cats and dogs also.  She takes her shots with out complaint and loves to cuddle and be held.

Here in this house.........................

in the barks of the other dogs 'out there'.

to improve peoples' images of themselves.
I will be loved because I am who I am,

not someone's idea of who I should be.
I will never suffer for someone's anger,

impatience, or stupidity.
I will be taught all the things I need

to know to be loved by all.

If I do not learn my lessons well,

they will look to my teacher for blame.
Here in this house...

I can trust arms that hold, hands that
touch...knowing that, no matter what
they do, they do it for the good of me.
If I am ill, I will be doctored.
If scared, I will be calmed.
If sad, I will be cheered.
No matter what I look like, I will be considered
beautiful and thought to be of value.
I will never be cast out because I am too old,

too ill, too unruly, or not cute enough.
My life is a responsibility, and not an afterthought.
I will learn that humans can almost, sometimes,

be as kind and as fair as dogs.
