All animals will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
All dogs are $140. This includes license($6), rabies vaccine($10), county fee($15),
HATS fee for medical charges that include spay/neuter, heartworm test and vaccinations($109).
Puppies(under 14 weeks) are $134, same charges apply except license and rabies vacc.
They will also be spayed or neutered.
It really is a good deal. Try to get all that done for that price. Keep
in mind there are no guarantees. These dogs are at the shelter because people don't want them or they are strays and haven't
been claimed. HATS works very hard to care for and vaccinate dogs but there may be health issues with a dog the
shelter has no way of knowing about. The risk is yours. I say it's worth it.
There may be more dogs than these photos show
due to animals in quarantine or arriving during
the week. There also may be less due to
adoption and euthenizing. I try to update weekly.

(note: if you want to adopt a pet from the Isabella County Animal Shelter,
please be sure to pick them up before Thursday morning, this is the day they euthenize. They do try to
keep them as long as possible but their time is limited.) Please call the shelter for verification if

Tips for you
1.never feel sorry or spoil your dog
because he was homeless and in the shelter
2.before you enter your house with your new dog,
take him or her for a long walk
so the dog can bond with you
3.watch the dog whisperer on
national geographic channel Fridays at 8pm
4. don't give your dog onions or grapes (raisins too)
they are toxic to dogs, chocolate is bad for dogs too

The shelter is in need of collars and leashes. Often when a dog gets adopted, a collar and leash goes too. They
could also use pet carriers and crates of any size, so animals can be taken to vet. If you have one you aren't using anymore
why not donate it shelter? Everyone would be so grateful!

Meet Ruby, she and 2 other littermates(who since have found homes) were found by a nice young man in
a closed box on the side of the road. Imagine the possible horror facing these pups if that nice young man hadn't come
along to save them. Ruby is possibly a shep-terrier-other mix who will probably be a medium dog(knee high). This sweet
pup is living in a foster with other dogs and cats, gets along fine. She is a little nervous about being alone due to being
abandoned in a closed box but she is improving. Ruby gives kisses, loves to be held and petted. She fetches and loves rope
chew toys and tug of war with the other dogs. Her foster moms are working on crate/potty training. She needs a fenced
in yard and it would be great if someone was home with her during day or other dogs with her in the house. If you can
